Making Math Accessible to Students with Learning Disabilities

Math is often presented primarily in symbolic form, which is challenging for many students with special needs. Randy Ewart’s multi-sensory approach involves representing math with visuals, manipulatives, in meaningful context, and broken into smaller conceptual parts.
He will provide examples, which can be included in an IEP as an accommodation of specially designed instruction (SDI), and can be used for students of all grade levels, from preschool to college, and with all classifications of disabilities.
