Explicitly Building Decoding & Encoding (Reading) Skills in Older Students (Gr 4-8)

EXPERT: Camille Lezubski

Increase your knowledge in pinpointing where to start building foundational phonics skills and learn how to structure phonics instruction in 10- 15 minute to building decoding skills. Keeping in mind, the valuable integration of all the layers of reading: word study, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension, along with this explicit and systematic phonics teaching, is important to enhance transfer of learning.

Target Audience: Gr 4-8 teachers, educational assistants, parents and administrators are encourage to attend.

Camille Lezubski is a graduate from the University of Calgary with a bachelor’s degree in early in Childhood & Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.    She has taught for 23 years and has had various roles in Calgary Catholic, Early Learning Consultant, Diverse Learning Coordinating Teacher,  Kindergarten – grade 6. Camille is Certified as a Tutor practitioner in Orton Gillingham through Scottish Rite Learning Center Calgary.  For the past 10 + years, she continues to remediate students in reading.
